"Demystifying Wine" is a weekly 1 hour Intro to Wine class. This week Jonathan will teach you to identify your wine preferences and how to describe them in "wine speak". Helping you to consistently get the most from your wine purchases both at the wine bar and the wine store. He'll also discuss wine labeling, regions and how to "get what you want" in terms of budget and occasion. Join us Monday, November 26 at Bahr Ché from 6:30-8:00, cost is $45 per person at the door and will include a variety of wines from around the world.

He'll teach you how to taste and "what makes good wine...good".   • Identify Chilean wines of good quality and value

  • Gain confidence ordering and buying wine.
  • Understand common wine terminology.
  • Learn to identify your likes and dislikes

You will learn by example as you taste wines from around the world and across all levels of quality.

Session 1: What makes good wine...Good?

This first session will examine the components of wine that create a balanced "good" wine. Then we'll go a step further ... just because a wine is good doesn't mean its good to YOU. Learn how to describe the styles of wine you like so that your next visit to the wine shop is a successful one.

 

Session 2: Bubblelicious, Sparkling Wine.

Not just for celebrations! The second class of this four part series will take a look at Sparkling wines. Learn about the variety of sparkling wines and champagnes and how and when to drink them (we say as often as possible!)

 

Session 3: Clarifying White Wine.

There is a whole lot more to white wine than Pinot Grigio. Session three will introduce you to the wide world of white wine from crisp to creamy-and why.

 

Session 4: Seeing Red, a look at Red Wine.

Session 4 will cover red wines from light and fruit-y to dark and barnyard-y. And what does that mean anyway?
